ITU Telecom World 2013, 19-22 November 2013 MEDIA INFORMATION

  • Media Accreditation – Media accreditation for ITU Telecom World 2013 and the Connect Asia-Pacific Summit enables free access to the event for registered media and analysts. UN Press accreditation is valid. For accreditation and procedures, please see: www.itu.int/en/Pages/media-accreditation.aspx.

  • Access to the Venue – Media Accreditation is compulsory.

  • The Media Registration Desk is open 16-22 November

    (16-17 Nov, 08:30-18:00; 18-19 Nov, 07:30-18:00; 20-22 Nov, 08:30-18:00)

    1. Accredited media (confirmed by ITU) should come to the Media Registration Desk. Please bring the confirmation letter with you. To collect the entry badge, a valid passport or official document with photo ID must be presented.
    2. Badges must be collected personally as a photograph will be taken and printed onto the badge for access control security
    3. Pre-registration for accreditation is highly recommended to avoid delays at the Registration Desk.
    4. We will have a counter for Media who have not pre-registered, but Media will have to anticipate delays to process their documents
  • Access Onsite – Media are invited to attend all sessions of the Connect Asia-Pacific Summit. ITU Telecom World 2013 is also fully open to the Press. Access to VIP and Leaders’ lounges and ITU staff offices is by invitation only.

  • Press Conference: Connect Asia-Pacific Summit and ITU Telecom World 2013 –

    Monday, 18 November 13:00 – 14:00 local time in Bangkok. The press conference is open to officially accredited media only. Interpretation will be available in Thai and English, and the press conference. Venue: Jupiter 16 Impact Centre

    Speakers will include:

    2. Group Captain Anudith Nakornthap, Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Kingdom of Thailand

  • Opening Ceremony Connect Asia-Pacific Summit (18 November 0900)

  • Venue: Jubilee Ballroom (Challenger Building).

    - Endorsement of the Leaders’ Vision – Asia-Pacific 2020: Smartly DIGITAL

  • Opening Ceremony ITU Telecom World 2013 (19 November 0900)

  • Followed by Forum Opening

    Venue: Jubilee Ballroom (Challenger Building).

  • VVIP Tour of ITU Telecom World 2013 show floor, 19 November at 11:45

  • Media can join the tour from inside the show floor if they are at the Media Centre earlier or join the tour along with the VVIPs arriving from the Jubilee Ballroom

  • Media Centre

  • The Media Centre is located on the show floor and includes work space for media, press conference room, interview booths and the ITU TV Studio. It will be open daily 19-22 November, 07:30 – 19:30. It is the perfect rendezvous and meeting place for media and the media focal points of ITU Telecom World participants. Daily press releases will be provided to media.

    On 18 November, a work space will be provided for Media in Jupiter 16, where the Press conference will take place. Wi-Fi access will be provided around the venue.
